Psychotherapy Services
1:1 Psychotherapy (Virtual)
Are you looking for 1:1 individualized support to address your concerns? I’m here to help. As many wise people have said, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional”. You don’t have to feel alone with your concerns and you don’t have to feel stuck in self-defeating patterns.
We will work together to build a strong working relationship and use various evidence-based approaches to help you achieve your therapy goals. We will assess your progress along the way and make any needed changes. You are the expert of your own life and I welcome my clients to share feedback along the way including what is or isn’t working.
1:1 therapy involves a combination of listening, speaking, reflecting, teaching, learning, challenging, empowering and taking action.

Comprehensive Assessment
Effective therapy begins with a bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment where we work together to better understand your presenting problems, goals, resources, strengths and values. This assessment will inform your treatment plan including frequency and number of sessions. The assessment stage is also a great opportunity to build an open, honest, safe, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. This is also one of the most important parts of engaging in therapy.

1:1 Walk & Talk Psychotherapy
Let’s think outside the box (and office). There are many benefits to walk and talk therapy, especially if you’re a nature lover, looking for more physical activity or keen to spend time outdoors.
Walk and talk therapy is a unique and effective form of psychotherapy, and it’s the same as regular therapy except we’re not sitting down in an office or virtual meeting. We meet at a chosen location (park, trail, neighbourhood) and choose a route. The goal is not intensive exercise (thankfully) so we’ll choose a comfortable pace to walk and talk.
Walking has been proven to be deeply healing and can help us enhance many different therapeutic processes such as mindfulness, reflection, mind-body work, grounding, increasing insight, expressing emotions and making decisions. The natural environment can help us change how we relate to our thoughts, feelings and life stressors, and can help stimulate curiosity and connection to the present moment. Many people find it easier to think, reflect and open up while they’re on the move. Some people find it more comfortable to walk alongside someone compared to direct face-to-face sessions. I provide walk and talk sessions in southern Mississauga and Midtown Toronto - both of which have lovely walking areas.

Whether you’re seeking practical, problem-solving and skill-based therapy, or more relational, insight-oriented and process work - I will meet you where you’re at and we’ll find the best way to work together. Choose your tomorrow but start today.

What does the research say?
As an evidence-based practitioner, I primarily work with Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is a transdiagnostic approach which is effective for many mental & physical health concerns. Notably, the therapeutic relationship has consistently been shown to be a primary factor influencing positive therapy outcomes, regardless of therapeutic techniques or approaches.
