My approach

I will meet you where you’re at and we will create a treatment plan that meets your unique goals, values, strengths and resources.

I try to keep sessions conversational and easy-going to help us explore painful and difficult topics.

You are the expert of your own life and my role is to be your teammate as we work together towards your therapy goals.

I have experience and training in:

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • CBT-P (for psychosis)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Trauma-Informed care
  • Attachment-based therapy
  • Exposure Therapy including Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
  • Relapse Prevention

What does the research say?

As an evidence-based practitioner, I primarily work with Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is a transdiagnostic approach which is effective for many mental & physical health concerns. Notably, the therapeutic relationship has consistently been shown to be a primary factor influencing positive therapy outcomes, regardless of therapeutic techniques or approaches.

I see the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for effective and worthwhile therapy. Developing an open, honest, trusting and collaborative working relationship will produce the most meaningful changes, regardless of which therapeutic techniques are used.
